Raising Teeswater sheep (Critical Heritage Breed – Livestock Conservancy Listed).
We provide breeding stock for both registered and unregistered Teeswater cross fiber animals. We also sell animals for meat or you can purchase individual cuts of lamb from our farm all year around or at the Custer Farmers Market during June through September. We are unable to ship meat due to our rural area and unavailability of dry ice.
Each of our breeding sheep’s information is posted on our website at www.busyewefarmfibers.com
We try to feed only grass and hay but do offer protein/mineral lick tubs during breeding and lambing season. We do supplement ewes with lamb creep during lambing season due to high lactation demand of multiple births. We also offer lamb creep to the lambs until they are put out to pasture. Living in South Dakota we have May through September on a good year for pasture otherwise we are feeding a quality alfalfa/grass mix hay.
