Our farm is a grass management/ regenerative agriculture operation. Our sheep keep vegetation down around solar panels, as well as graze on rotation on our farm during non solar management times.
We selected for easy keeping, low maintenance stock that grow well on a forage diet (This includes the traditional pre-breeding, gestational and lambing times.) They are offered a 6 choice free mineral station as their only summer time supplement. During the winter when snow has the forage inaccessible a protein tub is offered along with hay. Ewes lamb on pasture and raise their lambs without assistance if they wish to remain employed with us. They are also expected to be manageable without the use of a herding dog. Our girls are trained to come when called for yarding & transporting to solar sites. They also respect a 2 strand electric fence.
