Our sheep are from a flock that has only been dewormed three times in the past 21 years, and have adapted to the high parasite East Texas environment with frequent pasture moves. Lambing unassisted on pasture at 1 year of age and every following spring is a requirement to stay in the flock. The end product is a low maintenance hair sheep from stock that is not tail docked, dewormed, hoof trimmed, or shorn. We do not give any type of supplements to our flock aside from free choice mineral. To call our sheep hardy or easy keepers would be an understatement!
Terra Nera or black earth; this is our priority. We are a 288 acre family owned and operated ranch in deep East Texas. We manage a flerd of sheep, cattle, and pigs on both pasture and woodland. Through our management practices, we aim to regenerate our land by increasing topsoil or black earth and to build healthy soils.
